Ashley HW#2
English is a basic subject that is required by schools all over the world. So why is it so important? English is important because it is involved in everyday life. We need English to be able to communicate, to write, and to read. Coming from a small private school, I was also required to take these basic courses in English, and Composition. I have never found much difficulty in writing because it lets you express your own opinions or style of writing. In previous classes, I thought I knew the subject quite well, but as I sit in college I now realize the amount of information I have forgotten. I have had to write many essays, research papers, lab reports, and types of writings such as arguments and persuasion. Writing has many different styles though, it is not limited to only essays, I have also had to write poetry, fictions, and short stories with the list continuing on and on. In this new class, I hope to gain a new perspective on my own writings or the writings of others. I hope to expand my ability to write papers. I hope that I will retain the definitions and information I am learning so I may continue to apply this to the rest of my college career.
